Design has always been my passion. At first, it was advertising and graphic design. I got my degree in New York City at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and for years, created advertising for clients like Avon, American Express, and Kodak. But, my love for hats drew me back to FIT, years later when I took my first millinery class in 2003.  I was officially hooked and been making hats ever since.

Eventually, I  launched my own label, UNA, designing men’s and women’s hats. My hats reflect my love of wonderful design – my taste for clean lines and graphic shapes, while mixing textures and patterns. My aesthetic is modern meets vintage, hard meets soft, masculine meets feminine, giving my hats a tomboy charm and a retro vintage look. I want people to have a smile on their face from the moment they put them on.

I hand block and design every hat in my workroom by the beach in Los Angeles.  If you see something you would like in another color or trim just ask. I may already have it or I can easily create it for you. I love doing custom orders.
